About Eileen-
Eileen Obermiller is a landscape architect with over 18 years of experience in landscape design and land use planning. She has lived in central Oregon since 1993 and has been a registered Landscape Architect with the state of Oregon since 1997.
Her design philosophy is to create beautiful places based on your personal tastes and lifestyles. She achieves this by listening closely to your concerns, needs, and dreams. She then evaluates the natural and built systems affecting the site and establishes circulation patterns, areas for desired activities, and areas for environmental functions. This basic design is then further developed incorporating plant selections, materials, and structures. Plants are selected to meet the requirements of the site’s microclimates, surface drainage, and sun patterns. Materials are selected to complement existing structures, for durability, and sustainability.
Before opening Dappled Earth, Eileen worked as a landscape architect and land use planner for Deschutes County Community Development Department, Deschutes National Forest, and several consulting firms in central Oregon and the Portland metropolitan area. She has successfully teamed with property owners, developers, civil engineers, surveyors, landscape contractors, city and county planners, attorneys, architects, club boards, and plant suppliers to develop a variety of successful projects.
Eileen can assist you in your project development with initial property research, developing conceptual site designs, preliminary site layout and planting plans, applying for land use planning approval, developing construction documents, and monitoring construction.
Eileen lives with her husband Craig in Powell Butte where she enjoys gardening under the central Oregon skies amid the wind, sagebrush, deer, rabbits, quail, gophers, moles, voles, and other assorted herbivores. The herbivores are particularly thankful for her efforts.
